ABOUT WORK PERMIT OUTSIDE CANADA

A foreign national may apply for an open work permit outside Canada, at an entry or after arrival to Canada a work permit usually valid only for a specific employer, job and length of time.

It’s the best way to keep workers in Canada working while their applications for permanent residency are processed. It’s an extension to an existing work permit, that allows keeping working until the applicant received PR. The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria to receive a Bridging Open Work Permit

Bridging Open Work Permit eligibility

Applicants must have applied under one of the following programs To be eligible for this work permit

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class

Eligibility Requirement:

There are some eligibility requirements for Bridging Open Work Permit and applicants must meet all the requirements.

  • Proof required that you will leave Canada at the end of employment.
  • May required Police Clearance Certificate to show no record of criminal activity.
  • provide other required documents the officer needs to establish your acceptability.
  • Good health and no plan to work with an employer on the List of Ineligible Employers.
